Acupoint Injection Therapy (AIT) combines acupuncture principles with the targeted injection of small amounts of therapeutic substances into acupuncture points or specific anatomical structures.
Depending on the condition and treatment plan, injectable substances may include vitamins, minerals, amino acids, homeopathic preparations, or sterile botanical products. The specific substance and location are selected based on the patient’s needs and the intended therapeutic effect.
For musculoskeletal conditions, injections may be directed toward areas such as trigger points, irritated soft tissues, or other structures contributing to pain and dysfunction. AIT may also be incorporated into treatment plans for certain non-musculoskeletal conditions when appropriate.
Because the therapeutic solution is delivered directly to a carefully selected location, AIT offers another option when acupuncture alone isn’t providing enough stimulation or when a more targeted approach makes sense.
