Ron grew up in Northern Michigan and later attended both Alma College and Michigan State University, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in English and Sociology. His interest in healthcare motivated him to further his studies, and he soon became a CNA and earned certificates in phlebotomy and Touch for Heath. He also took classes in massage therapy, to which he was very drawn, but was unfortunately physically painful for him to perform due to his own health issues. As part of his massage therapy program, he completed a course in herbal therapies, which was taught by an acupuncturist from which he received several treatments for his serious wrist injuries. Through this experience, he found a form of healing that was maintainable without the use of medication or surgery, and allowed a person’s body to find balance within itself. Here, his commitment to Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded.

Soon after, Ron studied at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, where he spent five and a half years learning an abundance of approaches and applications for TCM. He earned certificates in Five Elements, which offers psycho-emotional support through acupuncture, and Trauma and Orthopedics, which specializes in sports medicine and injury. He was also able to study in China, which afforded him the invaluable opportunity to observe treatments by practitioners where TCM is deeply integrated in hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.

Having been practicing acupuncture in a variety of clinical and community-style settings since 2012, Ron finds great fulfillment in providing care to all those who seek it. He greatly enjoys discussing TCM and its benefits with his patients, and believes we all heal better when we can better understand and participate in our treatment.

In his free-time, Ron enjoys traveling and spending time exploring the outdoors, especially with his friends and family.
